Steve Slavin is the author of Looking for Normal, and Timothy Blossom – Officially Brilliant!
Until his retirement from the music industry in 2008, Steve was a professional musician, songwriter and record producer, scoring a number of international chart entries. He has also written music and created video content for radio and TV adverts, for companies including Heinz, Disney-Pixar, Paramount Films, The Hard Rock Cafe, Glaxosmithkline, Unilever, Danone and Waterstones.
Steve has subsequently filmed, edited and directed more than 200 documentary and promotional films for: local government organizations, The Fostering Network, the cast of TV’s The Only Way Is Essex, music videos, educational resources, and live events. He also works as a specialist tutor for the UK’s leading autism charity, teaching media and film studies to people with autism.
Steve currently lives in North London with his wife of 35 years, and is a trustee of his old boarding school, Monkton Wyld Court, in Dorset; now a community providing courses in sustainable living.
In his own words, ‘writing books will be my final reinvention; my final career. One I shall indulge from a cliff cottage high above the pounding waves of Lyme Bay in Dorset.”
